How Does the 2023 Nissan Rogue Compare to Other SUVs?

Here at Nissan of Auburn, we say a lot of good things about the vehicles that we sell. Although we truly mean those words, we understand that car buyers might be a little hesitant to fully trust a car dealership.

For instance, one vehicle we are particularly fond of is the 2023 Nissan Rogue. We love it, and drivers certainly seem to love it too. But as a smart vehicle shopper, you probably want to do your own research to determine how it matches up against other SUVs. This is easier said than done, however, as there are so many SUVs available in today’s market with so many specs and features to consider.

Thankfully, Cars.com has done the legwork for you. The editors at the publication recently held their 2023 Compact SUV Challenge, which included the 2023 Nissan Rogue and five other top SUV options available from other brands.

Who Won the 2023 Compact SUV Challenge?

Now, this challenge was more than simply comparing some numbers on a spreadsheet to find a winner. Cars.com gave the challenge its due diligence, testing these vehicles over the course of a week. Some of the considerations included handling, fuel economy, safety features, value and more.

It probably comes as no surprise that the 2023 Nissan Rogue came out of that weeklong challenge as the winner. The Rogue was recognized for many things, but in particular, it was praised for its in-cabin visibility and storage space, upscale amenities and fuel-efficient powertrain. The Rogue is capable of achieving as high as 30 mpg city and 37 mpg highway based on EPA estimates, and it actually has a best-in-class gas-engine fuel economy.

Some of the features that we think likely made a difference in the challenge include the Rogue’s advanced safety tech. With systems like Nissan Safety Shield 360 and ProPILOT Assist, it’s easy to have peace of mind on the road. The Rogue has the most standard features in its class. Other features of note include the available 9-inch touch screen that has wireless Apple CarPlay and a turbocharged engine.

This isn’t the first time that the Rogue has won this challenge, as the 2021 model also won it a couple of years ago. Of course, Nissan is never one to rest on its laurels, and the 2023 Nissan Rogue remains a top compact SUV option still today.
