What we expect to see on the 2015 Nissan Murano

Nissan sure knows how to keep a secret. A little while back, we told you about the upcoming release of the 2015 Nissan Murano. While we didn’t know that much about the vehicle, we were hoping that we would be able to secure a few details about it as the time passed. Well, it’s now late March and we don’t know a whole lot more. But just to further tease us, Nissan released a 10 second video about the new Murano. Again, it leaves much to the imagination. So let’s go over a little of what we expect to see on the 2015 Nissan Murano.

Quite obviously, the design of the Murano will be overhauled. It would appear that it will be a bit sharper overall with a new front end design. The headlights have kind of a boomerang look to them as they resemble what we have seen on other recent Nissan products.

As for the actual powertrain, we are expecting the new Murano to keep the 3.5-liter V-6 engine that has served the current Murano so well over the years. It will also have the same front-wheel drive platform that the Pathfinder and Altima feature. Again, these have been very successful, so we see nothing wrong with this coming over to the new Murano. There have been rumors of a hybrid version of the vehicle as well that would combine a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor. But, like everything else, we’ll have to wait just a bit to see if this comes to fruition.

So while we can speculate on what we expect to see on the new 2015 Nissan Murano, we actually won’t have to wait very long to see what it will offer for real. The new Murano will be making its public debut on April 16 at the New York International Auto Show. And you can bet that we will be all over it when it happens.

Will our expectations be realized? We’re sure that we won’t be disappointed – but we’re also excited to get some concrete answers!
