This might be the best job at Nissan
Don’t get us wrong on this one. We love our jobs here at Nissan of Auburn. But from time to time there comes along a job that really makes us jealous. Falling into this “how do you get that job?” category is that of Hiroyoshi Kato. You see, Kato gets to test some of the most high-end Nissan products on one of the world’s most notorious tracks – the Nurburgring. And yes, somehow he gets paid for doing this. His most recent “project?” Testing the new Nissan GT-R Nismo and pushing it to its limits on the famous ‘ring. Yeah, some people just have it good.
This isn’t Kato’s first assignment with Nissan either. He has tested some awesome performance vehicles from the brand through the years. These include the several Skyline GT-Rs. His body of work at the track goes back almost 30 years. So he’s obviously a driving pro. But still, we’re pretty sure we have a right to be jealous here. Well, we could just race a Nissan Altima…it’s been done.
There are a lot of reasons for us to be envious of Kato. After all, let’s take a look at what he’s driving. The new 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo is base priced at $151,585. That’s more than a lot of people pay for their homes. But considering the intricate process of assembling this vehicle in a dust-free environment – and all it consists of – the price seems justified. The amazing twin-turbocharged V-6 engine products 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque. The Nismo has output that is 55 horsepower greater than the traditional model.
Any time we can talk about the Nissan GT-R, it’s a good day. Being Nissan fanboys, we are naturally attracted to the powerhouse of the company’s offerings. Of course, we are also pumped about the other new Nissans near Seattle that we offer right here at Nissan of Auburn.
