For a lot of reasons, people seem to be attracted to the Nissan Rogue. In very simple terms, it’s a popular car due to its capacity, fuel economy, performance and style. But what if we told you there are rumors bout a hybrid version of the Nissan Rogue? Given the popularity that the Rogue has already achieved, it’s safe to say that a Nissan Rogue Hybrid would also be a very popular model in the industry. But where do these rumors about a Nissan Rogue Hybrid come from, you may ask? There are actually some very reputable sources involved.

Overseas in Japan, there is a new model coming to the Nissan lineup – the X-Trail Hybrid. You may already see where this is going. The X-Trail is very similar to the Rogue. And the Japan vehicle’s Chief Engineer, Nobusuke Toukura, recently hinted that there could be a similar version in the U.S. Nissan USA also wouldn’t refute the claim and added that the brand is interested in adding more hybrids to the vehicle lineup.

So, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid is built on the same platform as the Nissan Rogue. The brand wants to expand its hybrid lineup. And the Rogue is already made in the company’s Tennessee facility. It would seem pretty easy for the Nissan Rogue Hybrid to become a reality. Hence the fierce rumors about the vehicle.

If you are wondering about the details on the X-Trail Hybrid, we’ll provide a few for you. It has an 40-hp electric motor that is paired to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 145 horsepower. There is optional all-wheel-drive and fuel mileage of 47 mpg.

Again, we have to clarify – there is nothing confirmed about a Nissan Rogue Hybrid in the United States. That’s why it’s called a rumor. But, it sure is an exciting prospect to think about.
