Nissan goes electric where it counts the most

What are the vehicles that put on the greatest number of miles? While many may come to mind, you would have to think that delivery vehicles rank right at the top of this list. Therefore, it would be fair to say that delivery vehicles go through a lot of gasoline. To help curb the amount of greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere, Nissan has partnered with FedEx on an electric cargo vehicle for the company to use. The Nissan FedEx delivery vehicle is sure to attract the attention of some of the big names in the industry.

Nissan FedEx Delivery Vehicles

The Nissan FedEx delivery vehicle will be the e-NV200 and it will enter the delivery fleet in Washington D.C. on a trial basis. The e-NV200 is a vehicle that runs completely on electricity, meaning its environmental impact is greatly reduced. This is essentially the same vehicle that Nissan turned into a taxi to be used in bigger cities like New York and other areas. The idea behind both the delivery vehicle and the taxi is reducing the environmental impact of the Nissan fleet as a whole.

Being located in Washington state, we are very interested in making the world a place that is less dependent on fossil fuels. The use of electric vehicles can go a long way toward obtaining this goal. And hitting on some of the vehicles that use the most fuel would be a great way to start. The Washington Electric Highway also fits in very well with this initiative.

Obviously, Nissan has a little experience in the electric category with passenger vehicles as well. The Nissan Leaf has been out for a few years now and continues to pick up momentum. Check out the Leaf right here at Nissan of Auburn – and ask us all about the Nissan electric initiative.
