Nissan goes NISMO in Chicago

Nissan isn’t a company to miss out on a big auto show. And the Chicago Auto Show was no exception, with Nissan showing off some impressive NISMO editions at the event. The Nissan Chicago NISMO cars that were featured were the 370Z NISMO Roadster Concept and the GT-R LM NISMO race car. While both very impressive, the two vehicles are quite obviously going to be utilized in very different ways.

With the Nissan 370Z Roadster Concept, Nissan is making a good thing even better. The 370Z is widely known as an affordable sports car for those that want Nissan performance, but don’t necessarily have the funds to go “all the way” with the Nissan GT-R. The 370Z NISMO offers a great middle-road option, as it will be a very souped-up version of the 370Z.

This version of the 370Z will feature a different engine, suspension and other performance tweaks. Under the hood, it will feature a 3.7-liter V-6 that has output of 350 horsepower. So it’s obvious that the car will be able to go places in a hurry.

As for the other NISMO shown off in Chicago, the GT-R LM NISMO, it’s safe to say that most people will never have a chance to drive it – unless you’re a race car driver. The car is set to make its debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours this summer. It’s an exciting move for Nissan, which will be competing in the Le Mans top level for the first time in 16 years.

In addition to these big announcements, the entire Nissan lineup was available at the Chicago Auto Show. And as usual, Nissan was one of the most popular attractions at the show.
