Murano redesign is a winner – literally
Each year, every automobile manufacturer redesigns certain entries in their lineup. And while they do their best to appeal to consumers, there is no way to know how the vehicle will be perceived until it actually gets put out there. In the case of the new Murano, it appears that the design has gone over well. We don’t only say this because we believe that it looks great – others have said the same thing. Kiplinger’s Personal Finance named the new Murano “Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover” for 2015. With so many possible winners of this award, the recognition is certainly impressive.
But it takes more than an award – or our opinion – to really deem the vehicle a success. So let’s take a look at the aspects of the new Murano that consumers have been pointing out as their favorites.
At or near the top of the list is the cutting-edge style of the new crossover. The Murano has become more streamlined, with flowing lines down the sides. But it’s more than just looks, as the drag coefficient has been reduced to .31 – which basically means that the Murano slides through the air easier and has been fuel efficiency. The interior has been completely refined as well, with a new instrument panel, center console, and even NASA-inspired Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating. This all goes along with the spacious overall feel of the interior.
Of course, what redesign would be complete without a slew of new technological components? The new Murano has features like Moving Object Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Forward Emergency Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
