Introducing the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder

In 2018 the Nissan Pathfinder will be shifting gears and focusing on its family friendliness and versatile safety features. The Pathfinder made a name for itself through the 80’s and 90’s as a rugged off-road import, but in the modern market the pathfinder has become a favorite among family oriented consumers. The 3-row 7 seat full-size SUV is well fitted with the latest safety features and interior technology. Safety and functionality are brought together in the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder making it one of the most popular and affordable SUVs in America.

Performance

The Nissan Pathfinder will come standard as a front-wheel drive in 2018 with all-wheel drive as an available option. All Pathfinder trims benefit from the same powertrain package. All trims are equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 284-horsepower with 259 lb-ft of torque. All engines are equipped standard to a CVT transmission. Front-wheel drive Pathfinders have an average fuel economy of 20city/27highway MPG, while all-wheel drives get 19city/26highway.

Major changes to the exterior and powertrain of the Nissan Pathfinder were introduced in 2017. The 2018 model has added significant enhancements to the technology in this year’s model. Additions to the 2018 Pathfinder are mostly functional with standard features such as the Rear Door Alert system and automated emergency braking.

Exclusive Technology

Nissan’s Rear Door Alert system is the first of its kind. It is designed to remind drivers if they left something important in their rear seats. The system uses door latch sensors to detect whether a rear door was open before a trip. When your trip ends and the vehicle is in park with the ignition off, if you do not check the rear seats, then the Nissan Pathfinder will send you a series of alerts to remind you that you may have left something important behind. Rear door alerts are displayed in the instrument panel. If they are not acknowledged then the vehicle will give a subtle chirp of the horn.

Cargo/Passenger Volume

One of the major highlights of the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is its interior space. All three rows of seating are optimized for passenger comfort. The driver and passenger seats offer the leg and head room you would expect from an SUV while the second and third row have been slightly redesigned. The second row seating was moved slightly forward which allows the third row to provide a comfortable ride even for adults. It also offers superior cargo space with 42.4 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 79.8 cubic feet of space behind the front seats.
