If you’re a new parent shopping for a vehicle that’s going to accommodate your little one, it’s important to make sure that any potential car or SUV has the space and ability to accommodate your car seat. The 2023 Nissan Rogue isn’t the biggest crossover on the brand’s lineup, but it does have quite the spacious interior. Is it enough to manage different kinds of car seats, though? Let’s find out how well they fit in the rear seats of the latest model.

Another great source of information is Cars.com, especially for shoppers interested in how well a certain vehicle handles car seats. They have what they call the Car Seat Check, which is a test they put a ton of vehicles through to get to the bottom of that question. You can search for specific makes, models and years, so even if you’re buying a used vehicle you can look it up to see how it performs in the Car Seat Check.

So, how well did the 2023 Nissan Rogue perform in the check? Let’s start by explaining the grading scale, which goes from A to F, skipping E, just like the classroom. An A grade means that the car seat fits extremely well, leaving plenty of room for the seat and the child, while not impacting any other aspects or inhabitants of the vehicle. If the vehicle has a third row, it also means there’s still easy access to it even while the car seat is installed. A B grade, then, means that is exactly one issue in terms of space, connection or how well it fits, and you might have trouble accessing the third row if one exists.

For the five different types of car seats tested, the 2023 Nissan Rogue managed to score four As and a single B. Latch, Rear-Facing Convertible, Infant and Booster each earned an A grade for how well they fit in the vehicle, while the Forward-Facing Convertible got a B due to difficulties finding the tether anchor.

In other words, regardless of which kind of car seat you have, it will fit quite well in the Nissan Rogue. Even if you do choose a Forward-Facing Convertible, you’ll just have to dig around in the seatback a bit in order to latch it. So the Rogue is a great option to have throughout your baby’s growing stages, as it can accommodate each step of their car-seat-aged growth.
