How did the 2015 Nissan Murano score in crash testing? Good!
If there were ever a shred of doubt, the Nissan Murano just made us fall in love with it all over again. The reason being, is that the Murano just absolutely dominated the competition when it comes to crash test safety. How did the 2015 Nissan Murano score in crash testing? Let’s just say if there were a letter grade associated with it, we would have to say it’s an “A.” The Murano was the top performer out of seven crossover vehicles that were tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently. The Nissan entry scored an overall “Good” on the overall testing. And while that may seem like a score that is lacking enthusiasm, it’s actually the highest of achievements.
How did the 2015 Nissan Murano score in crash testing?
To obtain the coveted ‘Good’ overall rating, the Murano had to get an individual score of ‘Good’ on every test category and subcategory – which includes difficult tests such as the front overlap test that many vehicles are struggling with. Among the high scores was an impressive ‘superior’ ranking when it came to front crash protection. Helping the Murano achieve this over-the-top score were technology systems such as Forward Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning. Combined, these features warn the driver of a potential collision – and even help stop the vehicle if the driver does not respond to the warnings.
The scores from the Murano were even more impressive when you consider the fact that many of the six other crossovers tested actually got very poor scores. We’re not here to name names, but what we will say is that it’s pretty clear that the Murano is at the head of the pack.
