Nissan Intelligent Mobility

Intelligent Mobility is focused on taking the stress out of driving. The vision of the future for Intelligent Mobility is to create fully autonomous vehicles that can pick you up, navigate traffic, and even park themselves. While some of these innovations are a few years out, Nissan has already begun testing autonomous vehicles. As these Intelligent Mobility innovations are perfected we will begin seeing them as standard equipment on Nissan vehicles. Several of these innovations are already being implemented today.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT FORWARD COLLISION WARNING

Pioneered by Nissan in 2013, the Forward Collision Warning system can watch traffic up to two cars away and warn you if it senses an imminent collision.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT BLIND SPOT WARNING (BSW)

Pioneered by Nissan in 2010, the Intelligent Blind Spot Warning system helps the driver change lanes with confidence. If a vehicle is in your blind spot, then BSW will an indicator will appear in the driver or passengers door and will also display in the Driver-Assist display. If the BSW detects you drifting from your lane while an obstruction in your blind spot is detected, the system will give you a small nudge back into lane.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT LANE INTERVENTION (LDP)

Pioneered by Nissan in 2007, Intelligent Lane Intervention keeps you vehicle safely between the lines and will gently correct your steering should you begin to drift from the lane. If a driver begins to drift from their lane, the LDP will give a visual and audible warning signal. If the driver does not correct their course then the system will gently make the necessary corrections.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT BACK-UP INTERVENTION

Pioneered by Nissan in 2010, Nissan Intelligent Back-up Intervention work on the same concept as the Forward Collision Warning system. A significant number of accidents happen while drivers are backing out of parking spots. With Back-up Intervention if the system detects a possible collision it will apply the brakes in order to prevent the collision.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT AROUND VIEW MONITOR

Intelligent Around View Monitor keeps a bird’s eye view of your surroundings. By utilizing 4 cameras that surround your vehicle Around View Monitor displays a 360 degree view your vehicle. So if you are in a tight parking spot, or someone happened to park a little too close to your vehicle, you can back out with confidence knowing every inch of your vehicle is safe.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT DISTANCE CONTROL

Pioneered by Nissan in 2007, Intelligent Distance Control monitors traffic and ensures that your vehicle maintains a safe driving distance from the vehicles in front of you. Traditional cruise control systems only maintain driving speed, but with Intelligent Distance Control if traffic speeds up or slows down your vehicle will respond accordingly.

These are just a few of the innovative intelligent driving features that were pioneered by Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility. Systems like these come standard in vehicles like the Nissan Rogue and the Nissan Leaf. These systems will continue to advance in their effectiveness until Nissan has achieved their vision of fully autonomous vehicles.
