Nissan gets ready to expand electric vehicle offerings

Quick question – what is the Nissan electric vehicle? Of course, the Leaf probably immediately comes to mind for many. But soon, that answer may not be as obvious as there may be another Nissan electric vehicle out there. In Europe, this will be happening very quickly. It’s the Nissan e-NV200 – a completely electric powered van that will serve as a passenger vehicle in addition to a commercial cargo van. Of course, we are hoping to get the electric Nissan van here in the states sooner rather than later.

Van powered by electricity

Production has started in Barcelona on this electric van for Nissan. We expect a lot of businesses to show interest in this electric powered van from Nissan. After all, imagine how much could be saved on the bottom line by going with a completely electric vehicle. While electricity usage may go up, with the price of gas these days, the difference will be easy to quantify for business owners.

The van will also be offered as a passenger vehicle, so the cost savings can be spread to families as well. Again, the anticipation for such a vehicle doesn’t just come from consumers – we are pretty excited about it ourselves here at Nissan of Auburn. Being able to offer a second electric vehicle for an entirely different segment of the population is something that we look forward to.

It may be some time until the new electric powered Nissan van is available here. And in the meantime, we don’t mean to overlook the Nissan Leaf. The new Leaf offers a great option for drivers in the Seattle area. Easy to park, easy to drive and oh so efficient.
