Auburn International Farmers Market
Auburn International Farmers Market
The annual Auburn International Farmers Market will return for its 10th year on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Les Gove Park. Each Sunday from 10 AM-3 PM until September 30, over 40 vendors will set up shop and offer everything from farm-fresh, Washington-grown produce to hand-crafted goods. Event organizers seek to create “a convenient marketplace for local farmers and artisans and a vibrant gathering place for the community to enjoy Auburn.”
Not only will patrons find fresh fruits, vegetables, and berries for purchase, but will also find unique offerings like flower arrangements, herbs, plants, artwork, hand-crafted soaps, jewelry, ceramics, and quilted items. The market will also feature various prepared foods from vendors and food trucks, including burgers, sandwiches, barbecue, tacos, and kettle corn. There will be something to satisfy everyone at the Auburn International Farmers Market.
The market will also feature free entertainment, demonstrations, kids’ crafts, and classes on various topics. Every other Sunday beginning June 10, volunteers will host these events at the Art Booth. Many of the event days will have a theme that the entertainment and activities will follow. Themes include “Dog Days of Summer,” where patrons will see a dog parade with prizes awarded for various categories, and “Kids’ Day,” where balloon artists, mini golf, a library mobile, art activities, and a fire engine will provide plenty of fun for children. Performances will include music and dance from widely varying genres and cultures. Cooking demonstrations will be conducted, with experts showing visitors how to incorporate the ingredients they’ve purchased from the market into healthy meals. Gardening demonstrations will also be featured, with specialists giving audiences valuable tips on cultivating their gardens.
