4 Awesome New Special-Edition Nissans
Nissan is known for releasing special-edition vehicles that are only available in limited quantities in certain markets, so getting your hands on one of these models is an exciting prospect few will experience. If you’re hoping to snag one of these special editions in 2016, here are some to stay on the lookout for:
ICC World T20 Limited Edition
Most Americans are probably not familiar with the ICC World T20, which is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. The Nissan India subsidiary, however, has revealed its plan to showcase an ICC World T20 limited edition Terrano and Micra at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida, India. Nissan India has been named the official partner of the International Cricket Council for the next eight years, so this announcement comes as no surprise in the region of South Asia.
Juke Stinger Edition
Even though the Nissan Juke is a relative newcomer to the auto market, it’s already enjoyed a successful limited-edition run in the form of the Juke Midnight, which was offered in 2013. The automaker has stepped things up a bit in 2016 to introduce the new Juke Stinger edition, which offers a unique contrasting style that’s perfect for anyone who loves to stand out from the crowd.
Even the Juke Stinger’s interior is fun and colorful, with a motorcycle-inspired console and yellow accents, giving it a sporty, unexpected style meant to turn heads. Even better, the Juke Stinger Edition is customizable in up to nine colors, allowing you to truly make it your own.
Micra Cup Limited Edition
While American customers can enjoy the Versa as Nissan’s cheapest car currently on the market, Canadian buyers have the compact Micra, which lends its name to the Nissan Micra Cup racing series. This budget-friendly hatchback starts at CAD $9,998 – just over $7,000 in U.S. dollars – making it a great option for anyone on a budget. With the Nissan Micra Cup’s popularity soaring, though, it’s a no-brainer that Nissan would dream up a race-inspired special-edition model.
The Micra Cup race features identical Micra hatchbacks sporting upgraded brakes, exhaust, suspension, and rolling stock, making it a unique race that’s really starting to catch on. With the Micra Cup expanding into Quebec this year, Nissan has launched the roadgoing Micra Cup Limited Edition in showrooms across Canada, although only 250 vehicles will be made. Given the affordable vehicle’s sporty handling, it’s a shame America can’t get in on the action.
GT-R Anniversary Gold Edition
The Nissan GT-R is a premium luxury vehicle with a starting MSRP of more than $100,000, so it’s not exactly widely available to most buyers. The 2016 anniversary edition of the GT-R is worth mentioning, though, as it commemorates 45 years of high-performance heritage. Every GT-R Anniversary Edition features special gold paint, a gold-tone VIN plate, and a commemorative plaque, but fewer than 30 units are set to hit the United States.
Owning a special-edition Nissan can feel somewhat like a privilege. Be on the lookout for your favorites and snatch one up while you can.
