2015 Nissan Murano Design

For a while now, we’ve been somewhat obsessed with the next-generation Nissan Murano. After much speculation, we finally have something to share with you in regards to the design of the new vehicle – and actual images of it. The design is everything we hoped it would be, and actually a little more. The official unveiling today at the New York Auto Show today brought to light a lot of the features we have been anticipating.

It became apparent pretty quickly after the unveiling and subsequent press release from Nissan that the design of the new Murano was no simple task. A LOT of time was poured into getting it just right. It started with the team of designers working with small clay forms instead of the usual computer renderings. The vehicle also had to have the feel of a Nissan Murano owner – meaning it needed to be light and artsy, while also functional. We’re not sure how those concepts turn into a vehicle design, but there’s little doubt that Nissan actually nailed it. Somehow, those concepts are alive and well on the new design.

The new design is functional as well, as the Murano achieved a 16% improvement in aerodynamics with the new design. The drag coefficient is also on par with many sports cars in the segment. This explains why the Murano is already being considered the “cool kid” in the crossover segment. The sporty element definitely seems to put it on a different level than the other vehicles out there.

Don’t assume you will be disappointed when you look inside the new Murano, either. The vehicle will feature Zero Gravity seats that have a three-cushion design. You are going to have to sit in them to really understand why they are the next-level of vehicle comfort. And with Bose design with 11 speakers, Sirius XM, NissanConnectSM with Navigation and much more – the Murano is sure to be a future crossover champion.
